Juillet Lallement Selection Brut MV (disgorged May 2021)

$5300

Description
100% Pinot Noir. The Juillet-Lallement estate is located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in Verzy, in a very pretty, typically Champagne village is known for its exceptional forest and its twisted beech trees. They farm a little over 4 hectares, spread over two terroirs, Verzy and Sillery, both classified as 100% Grand Cru. The average age of their parcels is 40 years, and the earliest record of their oldest parcel was planted in 1949 by one of their ancestors, Arthur Lallement. Juillet-Lallement grows 45% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier on 9 parcels, planted on a chalky subsoil allowing the three varietals to flourish. Their overall philosophy is to respect the cycles of nature and the elements that surround it, through a reasoned culture, respectful of the environment and of man. Their Selection Brut takes on a clear yellow robe. The nose is a complex blend in part of yellow fruit aromas (peach, apricot), and a few hints of exotic fruits such as mango and pineapple. The mouth is greedy revealing a subtle mix of citrus and white flowers. This is a Champagne which is perfect for a cocktail or an aperitif, as well as suited for all occasions.
