100% Chardonnay. Belonging to the Launois family for three generations, Champagne Jean-Pierre Launois is today a winery that retains traditional values while evolving with the times. Jean Pierre Launois, with his son Julien, carry on the family tradition as stewards of the family vineyard, located in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil sur Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Illustration is a micro-cuvee of Chardonnay with most of the wine fermented in barrel and bit in stainless steel. 15% of the final blend is reserve wine and all the wine in this bottle goes through malo. With a low dosage, the wine can express more freely the finesse of its aromas as well as the identity of the terroir. It is a wine that is about the balance of salt and mineral from the chalky soils and the woody and toasted components from the barrel. A perfect combination of push and pull.
