100% Tempranillo. Goyo Garcia comes from one of the most respected winemaking families in the Ribera del Duero. Greatly inspired by the natural wine movement, Goyo started to farm and produce his own naturally made wines in 2003. Accompanied by his wife Diana Semova Geogieva, he farms single plots in the heart of Ribera del Duero, near the town of Roa. The idea is to come back to the past and let the vineyard fully express itself. To accomplish that he works with very old, traditionally head-pruned vines, farms organically, and harvests first for acidity. This single vineyard is planted entirely to Tempranillo at high elevation. This is a classic Ribera del Duero with fabulous tension between dark fruit, florals, minerals and acidity. In short, the way Ribera should taste. Goyo and Diana are the new maestro’s of Ribera del Duero.
