Description
60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. The Caraccioli family has deep roots in the Salinas Valley, but it was not until 2006 that they decided to start their own winery. Their goal is to help put the Santa Lucia Highlands on the map as a world-class fine wine region. This magnificent bottle has citrus fruits, honey crisp apple, with an underlying of yeasty baked goods.
Tasting Notes
Light shimmering yellow. Aromas of Meyer lemon and pear take on subtle chamomile, ginger and floral nuances as the wine unfolds. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering intense, spice-laced citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors and a hint of salinity that builds on the back half. At once concentrated and lithe, delivering firm closing cut, resonating floral and spice notes and impressive persistence. This exceptional bubbly wine spent four years on its lees and got 12 g/l of dosage, but it comes off dry.
