Description
100% Pinot Noir. Bell Hill Vineyard was established, in 1997, by Marcel Giesen and Sherwyn Veldhuizen and is situated at an old lime quarry in the Weka Pass, North Canterbury. This is a unique site with limestone-derived soils and north-facing hillside exposures. Since that time, Bell Hill has developed a cult following in New Zealand and Australia which makes the wines even harder to find since Marcel and Sherwyn only produce a handful of barrels each vintage. There is very little of their wines to go around. Luckily, we got our hands on some gems with a bit of age on them. Farmed biodynamically since 2007, their Pinot Noirs are persistent, structural, and have a slow evolution. It’s like if Burgundy was transported to the South Island of New Zealand and it is one of their best-kept secrets that we are now sharing with you. Enjoy as much Bell Hill as you can!
