100% Dolcetto. The fine estate of Roagna has long roots in the commune of Barbaresco and today the property is run by Luca Roagna, the fifth generation of the family. The style of the estate’s wines has been carefully passed down through all five generations of Roagna family, with the wines made in a very traditional and classic style. All of the their vines are worked organically, no herbicide was ever used here, and grass grows between the rows. The soils are never worked at any point and the vines are never trimmed back, giving them a tree-like appearance. In the spring and summer, it can truly look like a jungle. All of this, their farming and vinification methods, have made Roagna one of the hottest names in Italy with prices for their wines sky-rocketing. Luckily for us, they make amazing everyday wine like this Dolcetto. The grapes come exclusively from the great Pajé and Carso vineyards in Barbaresco with the vines being 45 years old. This Dolcetto is pure charm while showing poise and intensity of fruit. Sweet red cherry, licorice, and crushed flowers flow through this wonderful wine.
